UI Design Internship (Groningen) English
Location: Groningen, Netherlands Hours: Full-Time

About the Role
We're looking for a talented UI Design Intern to join our team. We already have an experienced UI/UX designer on board, and this role is here to support and expand our design capacity. You'll focus on the visual execution side: turning concepts and wireframes into polished, pixel-perfect interfaces. Your designs will actually be implemented and used by thousands of streamers every day.
We're looking for ambitious students with an eye for detail and a genuine passion for visual design. You'll work within a professional design system, collaborate closely with developers, and ship real work to a large and passionate user base.
What you will be doing
- Translate UX wireframes and concepts into high-fidelity visual designs in Figma
- Design UI components, screens, and full feature interfaces for StreamLadder's web app
- Create and iterate on marketing pages that look great and convert visitors into users
- Work within and contribute to our design system
- Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are implemented with quality
- Help maintain visual consistency across product and brand
What you are
- Currently pursuing a degree in Design, Visual Communication, Communication & Multimedia Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
- Proficient in Figma — this is non-negotiable
- You have a portfolio with UI design examples (personal projects, school projects, or freelance work all count)
- Strong eye for typography, colour, spacing, and visual hierarchy
- You can turn a rough wireframe into something that looks and feels polished
- Familiar with design systems or component-based thinking
- You can work independently and take ownership of your work
- Bonus: experience using AI design tools (e.g. Midjourney, Paper, Claude, or similar) to speed up your workflow
- Bonus: familiarity with the streaming or gaming space (you know the world our users live in)
- Bonus: basic understanding of HTML/CSS
- Bonus: experience with motion design or micro-interactions
