How to add captions to your video automatically
You will need a StreamLadder Gold subscription to generate and add captions automatically.
- After uploading your video and selecting your layout, there will be a menu on the left side of the screen. Select ‘Captions’.
- Choose one of the text styles for how you want the captions to look. You can also create your own text style by selecting Custom style.
- Select the language that’s being spoken in the clip.
- Your captions are now being generated automatically. It may take a second.
- Congrats! Your captions have been generated 🎉
How to edit your automatically generated captions
- You can edit the generated captions by clicking on the text you want to change in the Subtitles tab. You can use your keyboard to rewrite or make changes.
- You can add lines by selecting Add caption or delete lines by selecting Delete caption.
- You can change the color of each line by hovering over the line you want to change the color of and clicking on the colored square that appears at the end of the line.
- You can change how many words are displayed by selecting Options and choosing whether you want to show the subtitles per word (Single), per group of words or per sentence.
- You can change the timing of the words on the timeline at the bottom of the screen.
How to reset your automatically generated captions
- You can reset the captions to their default setting by choosing Options and selecting Reset captions to default.
- If you selected the wrong language and want to generate the captions again completely, go back on your browser and restart the process.
