Move over, Twitch – there’s a new kid in town. With Kick, Twitch now has a competitor in the streaming world. You can now create clips on Kick as well, similar to clips on Twitch. Here’s how you clip on Kick.
What are Kick clips?
Just like on Twitch, clips are <1 minute long video clips that highlight exciting, funny or interesting moments from a live stream. What’s nice about clips is that anyone can make them – streamers and viewers alike.
Note: the clipping feature is relatively new to Kick and it’s likely that some changes will happen to this process.
How to clip on Kick
- Sign up or log in. You have to be logged in to be able to create a clip.
- Navigate to the stream that you want to clip.
- Hover your mouse over the video player and look for the "Clip" button. Currently, it seems like you can only make clips for livestreams that are currently happening, not for previous streams.
4. Edit the clip. It may take a few minutes for the clip editor to load. It will appear on the right side of the screen, where the chat was.
- It'll look like the screenshot below. You have five minutes to edit the clip by using the sliders and add a description.
6. Hit Publish. You can now find the published clip in the account of the streamer. Click on Share to share the video on Facebook, Twitter or to copy the URL.
And that’s how you create clips on the Kick streaming platform. Hopefully, this feature will be developed further so that you can also make clips for existing Kick streams.
You can use StreamLadder for free to turn your stream clips into perfect social media videos.
